BITUMINOUS PRODUCTS
1) Industrial Bitumen
Indusrial Bitumen is a dark, petroleum residue modified by the oxidation process. Its consistency ranges from highly viscous to solid.
It has the properties of water proofing, plasticity, adhesion, resistance towards acid-alkali reactions. It also makes an efficient electrical insulator because it has excellent dielectric strength.
All grades of Bitumen are available like S35 (3/40> S65(60/70) & fully blown or semiblown bitumen 85/25, 85/40, 90/15, 115/15, 135/10, 155/6.
2) Bond
Bond is a cold applied adhesive for fixing roofing felts on the various surfaces to be waterproofed.
Bond is manufactured from selected grade of bitumen suitably blended with other additives. It has semi liquid consistency & is ready to use.
3) Tarplastic
A ready to use waterproofing sealant, Tarplastic is a cold applied bituminous caulking compound with mineral fillers in a volatile solvent to retain its plasticity. It is available in putty form.
Tarplastic remains plastic for a considerable length of time. The skin & interior harden to some extent after application.
It is ideal for use in conditions where a certain degree of expansion, contraction & vibrations are expected. It can also be used for very minor cracks/gaps etc. e.g. around hooks used for fixing AC/CGA sheets.
4) Expansion Joint Boards
Expansion Joint Boards consists of a fibre board, impregnated with bituminous material to make it durable & waterproof. It permits free movement of the concrete slabs during expansion & contraction. It provides a waterproof seal and resists entry of foreign matter into the joint space.
5) Bituminous Oil based Primer
It is a solvent based primer suitable for brush or spray application. It improves adhesion of the bitumen with the applied surface.
It is a multipurpose, anti-corrosive, black bituminous coating. It is an anti corrosive, tasteless, odourless, non toxic & black bituminous coating, compounded to a special formula for protecting the internal surface of storage water tanks, pipes etc. against corrosion.
6) Bituminous Water based Primer
It gives a coating which when set is impermeable to water & remains unaffected by attacks of industrial fumes, safety atmosphere etc. It resists low temperature cracking & also does not crack under the influence of strong sunlight.
